Delicious single source chocolate, local honey, heritage tomatoes, Indian snacks and Middle Eastern cakes were the stars as students, staff and the local city community got to experience a Slow Food Market during the AUT Winter Series. To celebrate urban food production the Pacific Food Lab Aotearoa and Slow Food Auckland came together for our inaugural Winter Series market day. Market visitors got to meet the producers, hear their stories and taste and buy their products. It was local, sustainable, artisanal, and direct from the producer – an opportunity to see the future of food in action.
