Dear Slow Food members – please join us for this free upcoming event on Saturday 13 February.
Carlos de la Barra (Slow Food Waitakere member and winemaker) will be leading a tour through the Delegat’s Wine Estate in Henderson to give us an insight into the workings of contemporary winery. Started in Henderson in 1947, Delegat’s is one of New Zealands largest family owned and operated wine making operations. While they have facilities in various regions around New Zealand, the original Henderson site is still in operation.
The afternoon will commence with a tour of the winery, and the opportunity to taste wine from tanks at different stages of production. Following this Carlos will shed light on the many mysteries around the crafting of a bottle of wine. The afternoon will be completed with a tasting of finished wines in the Delegat’s winemakers’ tasting room.
